Thanksgiving: Celebrating What We Have
Posted November 25, 2020
A note of gratitude from Kimberly Brody, Executive Director:
It is the day before Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season is officially here, albeit different than any we have experienced in our lifetimes. The traditions and expectations of Thanksgiving have evolved over the years, but it has always been about celebrating what we have with the people we love.
At Ars Nova Singers we are focused on taking care of ourselves and each other and spending time with our families in the ways that make sense for each of us. We are also focused on Grace and Gratitude. There is so much wisdom around making a choice to be grateful, starting with the smallest things. This practice can shift your thinking and turn your attention away from difficulties and heart-ache, even if for a moment. We are so grateful for all the people who make Ars Nova Singers possible, including you – our fans and supporters! And we are grateful that we have something to share and give – our hearts and our music.
When my son was in 1st grade, the kids were given an activity to create an acrostic of what they were thankful for. I think he nailed it; I’ve recreated it here with his “interesting” take on spelling. I am so thankful for this guy!
