Emma Vawter is an adventurous musician with a passion for exploring rarely performed works from the Renaissance to music composed yesterday. A frequent soloist with Ars Nova Singers, she has performed classics like Durufle’s Requiem, obscure Renaissance Sephardic songs with the highly respected viola da gamba player Ann Marie Morgan, and the avant garde Jennefelt’s Villarosa Sequences with aerial acrobats soaring overhead. She also enjoys singing with her colleagues in Ars Nova’s Ensemble Singers. Emma has also sung professionally with Bravo Vail, Opera Colorado, Seicento Baroque, and Boulder Opera, among others. Emma holds degrees from Yale University and the University of Colorado-Boulder. Emma joined Ars Nova Singers in 2014, and when she isn’t singing, she works in conservation travel and can often be found birding, hiking/backpacking, paddling, practicing wildlife photography, or playing with her pup, Mikko.
