Karen sings mezzo soprano and has sung with Ars Nova since 2000. She is a Teaching Professor of Western American and Native American Studies at CU Boulder and the Assistant Director of Arts and Humanities Education for the Miramontes Arts and Sciences Program, a program that supports traditionally underrepresented and/or first generation students at CU. In addition to being a singer, teacher, faculty mentor and administrator, she is first and foremost a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend. In her “free time” (if/when it exists) she enjoys being outdoors in the mountains, arranging flowers and reading.
