What’s Your Vocal “14er”? Conducting the Monteverdi Vespers of 1610 was a summit for me. I’m evidently still the only person in Colorado to have done so, and I had the pleasure (and honor) of doing it two different years.
What Song or Composer Should Ars Nova Cover in the Future? An Apostrophe to the Heavenly Hosts by Healy Willan — because it’s a beautiful piece, also very challenging. My (very advanced) high school choir sang it for a contest, and I’ve always wanted to repeat the experience. Ars Nova has the sound and singers for this piece.
Joined Ars Nova: 2005, then a brief break, and back in 2021.
Round of Applause for: John Butterfield (also in the choir!), Gordon Prugh (son), Rosie (grand puppy), Katie Cooper-Smith (soon to be daughter-in-law)
