Ellen is a scientist and musician originally from the Northeast (Boston, MA). She attended Vassar College and double-majored in Music and Cognitive Science, studying voice, violin, conducting, and interdisciplinary science. She went on to get her PhD in Medical Engineering with a focus on developmental neurobiology from MIT, while performing with the Boston Choral Ensemble and the Brookline Symphony Orchestra. She recently moved to Colorado chasing adventure in the form of learning the science of mathematical models of infectious diseases at work at CU Boulder, exploring new musical horizons, and climbing some of those pretty rocks outside. Ellen also loves a good chat, and facilitates events for Skip the Small Talk.
Ellen loves exploring the local communities and all the nature this area has to offer. When she’s not singing you can find her watching local music performances of all genres, sampling local beer, rock climbing, running, playing soccer, biking, reading, or thrift shopping.
Ellen joined Ars Nova in Spring, 2024, and says, “Shared Visions was such a wonderful concept and it was a joy to be a part of, especially for my very first musical project since moving to Colorado!”
