Hometown: Boulder, CO. I’ve lived in Boulder for 25 years. Attended college at Amherst. I started singing regularly during my first year in college. After auditioning for the venerable old Glee Club almost on a whim, I eventually sang in two choirs, directed the Madrigals for a year, and was lucky to participate in composition and conducting theses for a few creative classmates. After commencement, even before my job search was up to full steam, I’d already joined a community ensemble.
Favorite Ars Nova piece: The Three Kings, by Jonathan Dove
Favorite musical memory of all time: A friend set e.e. cummings’ poem “i carry your heart.” The piece was beautiful, fun, and free.
Favorite food: Basil pesto and linguine; favorite beer: Left Hand Milk Stout.
What did you do to keep sane during Covid? (“Sane”?) Trying out vocal arrangement & recording, 3D modeling, and motorcycle maintenance.
Favorite hobbies: Singing and skiing.
Something people don’t know about me: I own a car and a motorcycle that are older than I am!
