Welcome to Shared Visions, an interdisciplinary collaborative project featuring works by Colorado visual artists, poets, composers, and performers, coordinated and presented by Ars Nova Singers. This project brings together Colorado artists in a unique way, building a community of artistic inspiration and culminating in a performance of new music by Ars Nova Singers.
STAGE ONE – Seven invited Colorado visual artists have submitted three works each for inclusion in this online gallery. These twenty-one inspirational images were made available for Stage 2.
STAGE TWO – Colorado writers and poets viewed these visual works and selected one (or more) as a basis for writing new poetry (June-August, 2025). New poetry was submitted from June 1 to September 1. Works were then gathered into an anthology for use in Stage 3. (All poets and writers must be current residents of the state of Colorado OR provide documentation that they were born in Colorado.)
STAGE THREE – Four Colorado composers have been commissioned to use the anthology (and the related visual work) as the basis for composing new works for chorus. Composers will be announced very soon.
STAGE FOUR – The art sings! Ars Nova Singers rehearses and prepares the new works for public performance in April 2026. All the artists assemble to celebrate the shared visions and inspiration.
