Shared Visions 2026 – Gallery

Welcome to Shared Visions, an interdisciplinary collaborative project featuring works by Colorado visual artists, poets, composers, and performers, coordinated and presented by Ars Nova Singers. This project brings together Colorado artists in a unique way, building a community of artistic inspiration and culminating in a performance of new music by Ars Nova Singers.

STAGE ONE – Seven invited Colorado visual artists have submitted three works each for inclusion in this online gallery. Twenty-one images to inspire you!
STAGE TWO – Colorado writers and poets are now invited to view these visual works, and select one (or more) as a basis for writing new poetry (June-August, 2025). New poetry must be submitted no later than September 1, 2025. Works will then be gathered into an anthology for use in Stage 3. Writers may submit as many entries as they wish (we have had poets in the past who have created poems for every image in the gallery!). Writers must be current residents of the state of Colorado OR provide documentation that they were born in Colorado.
STAGE THREE – Four Colorado composers will be commissioned to use the anthology (and the related visual work) as the basis for composing new works for chorus.
STAGE FOUR – The art sings! Ars Nova Singers rehearses and prepares the new works for public performance in April 2026. All the artists assemble to celebrate the shared visions and inspiration.

INCENTIVES TO PARTICIPATE

• Honoraria of $500 each will be provided for visual artists and poets WHOSE WORKS ARE SELECTED BY THE COMPOSERS as the basis for the new choral works. Please note the phrase above; honoraria are not provided for every work submitted – ONLY for works that culminate in the Stage 4 new choral works.
• Opportunity to connect with new audiences and new interdisciplinary colleagues and collaborators.
• Recognition at the Ars Nova concerts in April 2026, and recognition in Ars Nova’s 40th season publicity (mailings, press releases, website, email marketing, etc.)
