On Saturday, May 30 at 7:30 PM, I’ll be attending the Inaugural Colorado New Music Festival at Central Presbyterian Church in Denver — and I’d love for some of you to join me.

Three of Colorado’s finest choirs are sharing the stage for one night: Ars Nova Singers, Kantorei, and St. Martin’s Chamber Choir. The centerpiece of the evening is the world premiere of The Bird of Vision by Colorado composer Terry Schlenker — a monumental new work inspired by the poetry of the 13th-century Sufi mystic Rumi, performed by all three choirs together.

The program also features music by five other Colorado composers and two works by Grammy-winner Christopher Tin.
