Jessie Flasschoen Campbell is excited to join Ars Nova in their highly anticipated 40th season. A champion of new works and innovative concert experiences, she is the co-founder of CU-based Renova New Music Ensemble, and serves as the artistic director of Denver-based treble chorus Kol Nashim. She received a doctorate in Choral Conducting and Literature from CU Boulder where she also directed the CU Treble Chorus and collaborated with composer Joan Szymko and Ars Nova in the 2024 concert Bloom.
Prior to earning her Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Portland State University, where she studied with Ethan Sperry and conducted the Thorn Choir, Jessie directed the Montebello High School choral program near East Los Angeles. She obtained the bachelor’s degree in music education from University of California, Long Beach where she studied with Jonathan Talberg.
Jessie loves baking, hiking, and photography, and she is passionate about all forms of dance.
