The Residency
Three days in the room where it’s made
Most of what an audience hears is the last five percent. The residency is the other ninety-five — rehearsal, revision, argument, the moment a phrase stops being notes and starts being a decision. Composer Blake Morgan spends three days with Ars Nova in March, and for once the doors are open.
It ends on Saturday, March 13, with an all-day workshop and a concert at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Denver. Every event in the residency is free.
