The Residency
Three days with Blake Morgan
Most of what an audience hears at a concert is the last five percent. Getting there — the rehearsal, the revision, the refinement – is the other ninety-five. That’s the part the public doesn’t usually see.

This March, we’re opening the door a little.
Blake Morgan joins Ars Nova for a three-day residency of coaching, rehearsal, and hands-on instruction — working not just with our singers, but with high school students in Boulder and Denver. Blake is a tenor with VOCES8 (you may remember them from two performances with Ars Nova over the past three years), as well as a composer, conductor, and choral educator who spends much of his career helping young singers find their voice.
Most of the residency is exactly that: guidance, coaching, and the unglamorous work of getting a piece of music right. But we’d love for you to join us for where it lands — a culminating concert on Saturday, March 13, at St. Paul Center for Music and the Arts in Denver. It’s free, and it’s your invitation to hear what three days of real, close attention to music can produce.
Repertoire and full program details will be announced closer to the residency.
Reserve a free seat
This concert is free. Reserving a seat costs you nothing and tells us how many chairs to put out.
