Karen has had the joy of singing with Ars Nova since 2000. She is a Teaching Professor of Distinction at CU Boulder, where she directs and teaches for the Miramontes Arts and Sciences Program, an inclusive academic community primarily for first generation students in the College of Arts and Sciences. Her scholarship is in western American and Indigenous literatures and dialogue as a teaching practice. Karen grew up in Boulder and enjoys time spent with family, being in the mountains, reading, and growing/arranging flowers.
