21 years with Ars Nova Singers

I’m a retired professional singer (with 4 decades specializing in performing and researching solo baroque music), a retired choral director, and a still-active voice teacher and especially for early baroque singing/coaching. With that background, I founded Seicento Baroque Ensemble in 2011, and it’s still going strong as Colorado’s only choir specializing in music of the 17th century. In another life, I was a program manager, developing training courses for the Smithsonian Institution where I was head of the procurement division, overseeing all museum purchases from their central contracting office. I like to build strong communities in the arts, and this year joined the board (along with Tom Morgan and others) at St Paul Center for Music and the Arts where Ars Nova performs in Denver. Joyfully, I am Nana in partnership with my husband and ANS bass, Granddad John Butterfield. We have two sons living in two different countries too far away and a 2-year-old grandson with a huge vocabulary, especially when discussing construction vehicles.
