Elizabeth Swanson is Associate Director of Choral Activities at the University of Colorado–Boulder where she conducts the University Choir and CU Treble Chorus. A passionate educator, Elizabeth teaches courses in conducting at the undergraduate level and serves on master’s and doctoral committees. She was recently awarded a university-wide Provost’s Faculty Achievement Award, acknowledging her contributions to CU Boulder through creative work, teaching, leadership and service. Elizabeth is regularly invited to conduct guest residencies and festivals across the United States; recently, she was the headliner conductor for concerts at Carnegie Hall with the National Festival Chorus (2022) and National Octavo Chorus (2024). Additionally, Elizabeth serves on the National Board of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) as Co-Chair of Student Activities. Delighted to be in her fourth season with Ars Nova Singers, Elizabeth appreciates the opportunity to collaborate with members of this special community and enjoys singing within the alto section. She otherwise loves spending time with her husband (Marc), human son (K) and furry son (Rocky).
